I was born in Newton Iowa, and raised in Marshalltown for a few years then moved to Yreka California when I was about 8. I moved from various cities in California including Sacramento, L.A, and Pasadena. I moved around a lot when I was little and spent most of my childhood traveling around the US. I have been to 33 states, and plan to travel to various countries when I'm old, gray and awesome. (:
Self Evaluation #1:
During the South America assignment, I didn't learn too much, considering that I wasn't here for most of it. But I did learn how a co-op operates, and how to help and give benefits to 3rd world countries. I also learned how to propose ideas, present keynote presentations, and discuss important matters over Wiki. I believe that Logan, Lacy, and Grant fulfilled the Iowa Core Standards by understanding the issues of Guyana and proposing a solution and multiple options to help improve the country's rural coffee farms. Honestly, I pretty much didn't do anything. It's not that I didn't want to, I just wasn't here for the opportunity to work on this project. So, all credit is given to my group. (:
Self Evaluation #2:
Alrighty, well I actually learned quite a bit, if not a lot, about the Middle East. I learned about the various types of religions, languages, and ethnic groups residing in the Middle East. I also learned a lot from the parts my group contributed in. I learned from Lacy about the types of government in the Middle East, including Monarchies, and Presidential-parliamentaries. From Logan, I learned about the most popular foods/dishes of the Middle East. Grants information was probably the most interesting. Like how you should never use your left hand to eat, or shake hands with anyone, because it's meant for personal hygiene use and is considered rude to use. Overall, I thought that my partners contributed useful information and helped out equally. I think we all did a pretty good job. We all worked together, gathered information, and brainstormed ideas. I believe that we fulfilled Iowa Core Standards by understanding the region we researched. I also believe we fulfilled them by understanding the people and how they create each tiny piece of their culture. Overall, I do believe we gave a very good understanding, and summed up explanation about the Middle East. Good job group. (:
Self Evaluation #3.
Okie dokie, so I learned some interesting things in this particular assignment. I learned about the struggles with Human Rights, and how to really focus on a certain cause. I thought this project was really cool because we were going to advertise and get the cause out there by using Mass Media, and other ways to let people know what was going on. Something I learned while working in my group, was scheduling conflicts. Part of the days that we were working, some of the group would be gone and we would have to figure out who could do what for our project. In the end, everybody did a pretty good job at contributing and working together. (:
